Mexico's contribution to cigars is mostly its wrapper leaf. San Andrés Negro, grown in the Tuxtla valley near Lake Catemaco, is fermented slowly until it turns dark and oily, and it is used as a maduro wrapper on cigars made all over the world. Dark, sweet, and unmistakable.
