Cigars from Nicaragua

Nicaragua grows the most assertive tobacco we stock. The volcanic soil around Estelí produces leaf with real pepper and strength to it, while the Jalapa valley to the north gives something sweeter and lighter. Most Nicaraguan cigars blend leaf from several of these regions. If you find Cuban cigars too restrained, this is where to look.

Soil
Mineral-dense black volcanic loam around Estelí, and red river clay in the Jalapa valley
Character
Dark chocolate, espresso, black pepper, leather, cinnamon
Curing
Hot natural fermentation, conditioning in barrels, and long resting in cedar
